Sustainable protection through active fire prevention

OxyReduct® PSA systems are especially suitable for providing active fire prevention in large-volume rooms. The Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) method generates nitrogen using activated carbon.

  • PSA stands for Pressure Swing Adsorption
  • Adsorption process using Carbon Molecular Sieve (CMS)
  • Working pressure: around 6-8 bar (overpressure)

A compressor pressurises ambient air and pushes it through two containers containing Carbon Molecular Sieves (CMS for short), which separate nitrogen and oxygen molecules from one another. The oxygen binds to the activated carbon inside the containers, and is then directed outside as exhaust air. The nitrogen is fed into the protected area, where it distributes throughout the room at uniform concentration levels.
