EUSAS Conference 2019

Aerosole in the scope of fire detection

On 12 and 13 February the European Conference of EUSAS e.V. on “Aerosols in the scope of fire detection” has taken place in Langenhagen. WAGNER was not only the host of the conference this time, but also represented by two specialized lectures from Florence Daniault, Head of Innovation, and Dr.-Ing. Oliver Linden, Business Development Manager.

The conference, organized by the EUSAS e.V. (European Society for Automatic Safety Systems), is aimed at representatives of the fire and security industry, test institutes, standard developers, practitioners and to scientists, who are interested in fire protection engineering, fire detection and system technologies. The aim of this EUSAS conference is to give an overview about state-of-the-art, recent developments and future trends as well as to provide a platform for sharing experiences and networking.

The conference was divided into four different sessions. The first and third session were concentrated on research projects with special regard to very early fire detection and enhanced immunity to false alarms. The second session dealed with testing according to EN 54-27 and calibration of optical smoke detectors. The last session changed the focus on standardization activities, containing a panel discussion on the topic of how far today‘s standardization will suffice for the future.

On the second day of the conference, the lectures of the last session focused mainly on topics of standardization. One highlight of the second conference day was the tour through the WAGNER World and the presentation of the WAGNER products. The participants had the opportunity to attend in fire tests to demonstrate innovative fire protection.
