Redesigning fire protection

26-04-2018

Taking new directions: The CEBIT 2018, the world’s largest trade fair for information technology, transforms itself into a business festival for innovation and digitization at the Hanover trade fair grounds from Monday to Friday, 11 to 15 June 2018. As an innovative company that constantly meets new requirements, the WAGNER Group will present itself at the joint stand 360°dcPavilion. The focus: Future fire protection solutions for data centres.

As a plant manufacturer with its own research and development department, the fire protection expert WAGNER specializes in innovative solutions for areas with high value concentration as well as process-sensitive areas. Data centres, EDP and IT rooms require special fire protection. In order to avoid energy shut-off in case of fire – data loss is then inevitable – WAGNER offers fire-fighting systems based on gas extinguishing. FirExting® fights against fires effectively and residue-free. Depending on the requirements of the operator and the individual conditions on site, nitrogen, carbon dioxide and Novec 1230 are used as extinguishing gases.

Another option for actively preventing fire in data centres is the fire prevention system OxyReduct®. It reacts before fires can develop in the first place. For this reason, OxyReduct® protects against fire-related data loss and operational interruptions. The oxygen content in the protected area is lowered below the ignition threshold of the materials predominately housed there and maintained at this level in a controlled manner. The required nitrogen is generated as needed from the ambient air. In combination with FirExting® several fire protection concepts with quick release are possible.

How does oxygen reduction work? Visitors of the WAGNER booth will experience this live in an OxyReduct®-cabin.

The basis of every fire protection solution is always an early fire detection system. TITANUS® aspirating smoke detectors detect fires up to 2.000 times faster than conventional point detectors. The TITANUS RACK·SENS® has been specially developed for protection of server cabinets. The fire detector is 44,45 mm high (one height unit), can be implemented easily and can optionally be extended by a fire fighting system.

Customers worldwide rely on the pioneering fire protection solutions of the WAGNER Group. These include Imperial Automotive Logistics, the Elbphilharmonie concert hall in Hamburg, NewCold, noris network, the British Library, Frankfurt Airport, German Telekom, the Lower Saxony State Parliament, DARZ, BASF and many more.
Further information about the systems as well as WAGNER's innovative fire protection solutions will be available to the fair visitors at the 360° dc joint booth D99 in Hall 12.
