Carbon dioxide (CO2) has the best extinguishing effect of all inert gases. It displaces the oxygen around the source of a fire. The CO2 is stored in liquid form under high pressure and evaporates at the nozzle and is fed into the extinguishing zone in gaseous form. It does not undergo chemical reactions under typical fire scenarios, and is not electrically conductive—so it does not cause short circuits during or after the extinguishing process.
1. Pressure relief: Prevents an impermissible rise in pressure when the extinguishing zone is being flooded
2. Smoke detectors: Monitor the extinguishing zone and send an alarm to the extinguishing control panel if smoke is detected
3. Gas extinguishing nozzles: Distribute extinguishing gas uniformly throughout the entire extinguishing area
4. Acoustic and optical alarm devices: Ensure that everyone can leave the protected area during the preliminary warning period.
5. Fire detection / extinguishing control panel: Processes fire detection signals, triggers alarm and floods the extinguishing zone after the specified pre-warning period
6. CO2 extinguishing agent cylinderswith 30 or 50 kg of extinguishing agent and N2 control cylinder.
