Fire extinguishing

Fire extinguishing: fast, safe, clean

In addition to early fire detection, a comprehensive fire protection concept includes effective fire suppression to protect people, property and the environment. Various technologies are available for the most diverse requirements for effective fire extinguishing. At WAGNER, we focus primarily on gas extinguishing technology. In addition, we offer aerosol and water mist extinguishing solutions. These are used in particular for the fire protection of rail vehicles.

How our fire extinguishing solutions work

FUNCTIONAL PRINCIPLE

Gas extinguishing: Depriving the fire of its source

If a fire is detected, the gas extinguishing system triggers automatically via detectors or manually via manual release. The area to be protected is flooded with extinguishing gas after a defined delay time during which people are evacuated.

The operating principle is simple: the extinguishing gas removes the basis for the fire. One option is to smother the source of the fire using inert gases that displace the oxygen in the protected area. For many applications, nitrogen is particularly well suited for this purpose. Another option is to remove the heat energy required for combustion by using synthetic extinguishing gases. Both extinguishing mechanisms prevent further fire development at a very early stage. Thanks to the rapid deployment, fire damage is minimized, and the extinguishing process is residue-free and non-destructive.
