Protecting visitors and staff, historic architecture, valuable stage sets and musical instruments safely from flames: TITANUS^® aspirating smoke detectors have been performing this task since 2012 after a two-year restoration break in the Schlosstheater Celle, a district town in Lower Saxony.

The project had to reconcile the sophisticated architecture with effective fire protection without compromising the listed building. While the horseshoe-shaped auditorium was built in the 17th century according to the model of Italian stages, the fire protection technology behind the scenes, on the other hand, was to be ultra-modern and safe.

The Schlosstheater Celle is located in the state apartments of the baroque Celle Castle. Founded in 1674, it is today one of the oldest, regularly performed theaters in Europe with a permanent ensemble.
