On behalf of Stadler Kazakhstan, WAGNER Rail is equipping 557 passenger coaches for Kazakhstan Railways with modern fire protection technology – one of the largest individual orders in the history of WAGNER Rail.
WAGNER Rail is supplying extensive fire protection technology for a total of 557 passenger coaches for the largest rail vehicle project in Kazakhstan. The vehicles are being manufactured by Stadler Kazakhstan and built at the production facility in Astana (Kazakhstan). The customer is Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ), the state-owned transport and logistics holding company of the Republic of Kazakhstan and operator of the national railroad network for freight and passenger transport. The trains will be used in day and night operation on electrified and non-electrified lines, even under challenging climatic conditions.
The goal of the project is to ensure the highest safety standards for the new passenger coaches of Kazakhstan Railways (KTZ) with customized system solutions for the protection of sensitive technical areas.
SOLUTION
WAGNER Rail protects the technical areas of vehicles with a powerful combination of innovative systems:
This solution ensures early and reliable detection, even under the special requirements of long-distance transport in Central Asia.
PARTNERSHIP
The first passenger coaches are scheduled for delivery in 2025. Full-scale production of coaches in Kazakhstan using Swiss-quality technology will continue until 2030. The project is a significant strategic step: it opens up new markets, strengthens WAGNER Rail's international competitiveness, and clearly positions us in the growing segment of sleeper and passenger coaches.
At the same time, this project once again underscores our long-standing partnership with Stadler, with whom we successfully implement rail vehicle projects worldwide. Another milestone was the successful completion of the EAC certification in accordance with the latest requirements, which we implemented together with our approval partner RailGo – an important foundation for future projects in the CIS region.
