The aspirating smoke detector for server and control cabinets

The TITANUS RACK∙SENS® is WAGNER’s aspirating smoke detector for monitoring 19” equipment such as server and control cabinets. The fire detection unit can also be expanded to include fire suppression using either integrated or externally attached extinguishing gas cylinders. Ten aspirating points provide cost-effective, false alarm-proof monitoring of up to five server cabinets. This special fire detector is available in two different installation heights (one or two U), and using either NovecTM or nitrogen as its extinguishing gas.

A three-stage safety concept provides a combination of early fire detection and fire suppression.

  1. The earliest possible high-sensitivity smoke detection
Minimise fire damage by getting a maximum head start.
  2. Automatic system shut down
Withdrawal of necessary support energy (required to prevent fires from spreading) and data backup via soft shutdown or virtual server management (live migration).
  3. Optimised gas extinguishing
Targeted extinguishing at the exact source of the fire.

Advantages

  • The TITANUS RACK.SENS® combines fire detection and suppression into a single unit (88.9 mm construction height (2U)).
  • Thanks to HPLS light source technology, this aspirating smoke detector reaches sensitivity levels of 0.1% obs./m, making it up to 400 times more sensitive than conventional smoke detectors.
  • Proven LOGIC.SENS fire pattern recognition technology provides excellent security against false alarms.
  • A second detector module can also be incorporated into a dual detector dependency configuration (each with two alarm stages), providing maximum flexibility in system response behaviour.
  • Maintenance and interactive diagnostics can be performed without interrupting operations.
  • A network interface card slot allows central monitoring, remote diagnostics and remote maintenance via Ethernet / SNMP.
