Langenhagen. WAGNER Rail will present innovative solutions for fire protection in rolling stock at InnoTrans 2026, taking place September 22–25, 2026, in Berlin. The focus of the company’s exhibition presence in Hall 2.2, Booth 250, will be on new solutions for fire detection, fire suppression, and the power supply for fire protection systems, all of which are specifically designed to meet the requirements of modern rolling stock. A special highlight will be the technical presentation by Dr. Markus Müller, Managing Director of WAGNER Rail GmbH, on September 23, 2026, at the EventStage in Hall 2.2.
With the new FirExting® Water Mist Compact, WAGNER is expanding its portfolio to include a compact water mist system for fire fighting in passenger compartments, sleeping compartments, train kitchens, and restrooms. For the first time, this solution combines water and nitrogen in a single container, enabling simple, space-saving installation while delivering high effectiveness. The system stands out for its low water consumption, reduced consequential damage, easy maintenance, and quick replacement after flooding.
As another innovation, WAGNER Rail is introducing a battery module that stands out for its high power density and compact design, thereby opening up new possibilities for installing fire protection systems in rolling stock.
With its TITANUS® aspirating smoke detectors, WAGNER is showcasing a proven solution for very early fire detection in rolling stock at the trade fair. Thanks to their high immunity to nuisance alarms, they are particularly well-suited for use in passenger compartments, equipment rooms, and underfloor areas. As modern rolling stock is increasingly designed with comfort, functionality, and sophisticated interior design in mind, the discreet integration of safety technology is also becoming more important. The TITANUS® systems can be integrated almost invisibly into the vehicle design and combine very high fire safety standards with the design requirements of modern interiors.
“Today more than ever, there is a need for solutions that reliably protect vehicles and passengers while making optimal use of the limited space available in modern rolling stock. With our latest developments, we are demonstrating at InnoTrans how safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness can be successfully combined.”
For Dr. Markus Müller, the current needs of the rail industry are clearly the focus of the trade fair: “Today more than ever, there is a need for solutions that reliably protect vehicles and passengers while making optimal use of the limited space available in modern rolling stock. With our latest developments, we are demonstrating at InnoTrans how safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness can be successfully combined.”
He will provide further insights into current approaches to fire detection and fire suppression in his technical presentation titled “Latest Innovations in Fire Protection Systems for Passenger Coaches, Sleepers, High-Speed, and EMU Trains.”
