40 years of expert fire protection—WAGNER demonstrates its newest fire protection solutions for the storage and logistics industries at LogiMAT 2016
The LogiMAT, Europe’s largest annual intralogistics trade fair, will be held in Stuttgart from March 8-10, 2016. This year, the 40th anniversary of the company’s founding, WAGNER will once again be attending this global trade fair on distribution, materials and information flow, and presenting its newest fire protection solutions specifically for the storage and logistics industries.
With four decades of experience under its belt, the WAGNER Group GmbH has firmly established itself as an internationally leader among fire protection experts. The OxyReduct® active fire prevention system, in particular, has become a standard solution within the storage and logistics sector.
Increasing automation, highly flammable packaging materials, high, narrow alleys and dry air: the increased risk of fire in storage facilities spares no organisation. Even a tiny amount of smoke resulting from a smouldering cable break can disrupt operations, often with devastating consequences; as such, apart from protecting people, the top protection objective is to maintain logistical processes and delivery capabilities. Fire protection concepts involving consequential damage, such as those using water-, foam- or powder-based extinguishing systems, do not live up to this requirement.
WAGNER’s OxyReduct® is a preventative fire protection system that prevents fires from developing and spreading in the first place. The fire prevention system permanently reduces the proportion of oxygen within the protected area using a controlled supply of nitrogen, thereby creating a highly fire-retardant atmosphere. The necessary nitrogen is generated directly on site from the ambient air, eliminating the need for space to store reserve extinguishing-agent supplies.
Over 700 customers around the world have already placed their trust in OxyReduct®. Visitors to this year’s LogiMAT can experience the fire protection solution live: the WAGNER exhibit will include a 6.5m2 walk-in glass booth in which oxygen levels have been reduced from the normal 20.9% volume to a protective level of 15% volume, in order to demonstrate how OxyReduct® works. Visitors can enter the booth and see for themselves that it is impossible for fires to develop in this oxygen-reduced atmosphere.
WAGNER will also be exhibiting its portfolio of TITANUS® air sampling smoke detectors, which provide highly sensitive early fire detection. Even in dusty environments with a great deal of air circulation, these false alarm-proof air sampling smoke detectors can reliably detect even the smallest particles of smoke. The company will be presenting the modular Plug & Play system complete with accessories, such as an automatic blowing-out system and a multi-filter concept.
